Gulp.....Day One! 8/23/2010

My husband had today off, so we thought it would be a good trial run for the first day. Dropping Noah off at the "academy" would allow him to clean the house and work out, while still being ready at a moments notice to swoop in should any problems occur, perfect! We packed him all of his required items, diapers, a sippy cup, and extra set of clothes, a comfort item, ( his Curious George stuffed monkey), and a crib sheet and blanket, just incase they were able to force him onto a cot! We we're off!

Noah didn't even care that we were leaving him with strangers! Such a little trooper! The toddlers were all outside when we arrived to drop him off, so we walked him out to meet his "teacher" and his "classmates", (are you kidding me). Naturally, my husband and I looked around and eyeballed the other kids that were in his classroom, mostly clean and minimal runny noses, score! Atleast he won't be coming home sick on the first day! Noah, of course, cared nothing about how the other kids looked and immediately demanded to put down and ran to the slide, he never looked back.....gulp...! Before we left they gave us a password to be able to access the security camera system they use from home so we could watch him throughout the day. What?!?! Needless to say, all of the wonderful plans that my husband had for cleaning and working out were canceled, and he instead spent the better part of 6 hours watching the little man on a computer screen from home!

When we picked Noah up, his teacher handed us a folder that had his lesson plans for the week in it and a picture of his first ever art work, a masterpiece of several squiggly "x" marks drawn with a purple crayon! It's hanging on our fridge! The folder also had a check sheet of things that he had done throughout the day, the "official report" read:

Mood today: Okay
3 wet diapers
1 poopy diaper ( go little man!)
2 naps....... on the cot.......WHOA!!!!!!!
and a paragraph that said, "Noah had a pretty good first day. He is still adjusting to his new friends and teacher".

Overall a good day, we'll see how day two goes.....
